1981 Extended Time exposure, Uluru, Central Australia.
The images on this site are just a few samples of a variety of thematic groupings and exhibitions I have created over the years.
Increasingly my work is turning towards the abstract. Images that are timeless, peaceful ambient and hopefully, beautiful.
Bokeh = movement, colour, viewability, texture, form, harmony.
AbSolutely, ColourSwap
EleMentals = the dichotomy of power and softness. The beginning of a thematic series covering the ancient elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
Tsunami
The above groupings could be described as experiments with the elements of light, time and movement. Capturing fractions of a moment that will never be repeated. Attempting to catch even more of it. Pushing myself and my time machines, my cameras, to SEE what happens. Where possible, bending light, distorting, nurturing, to make art that is viewable and engrossing.
I do my work in camera, making minimal changes during processing.
The quest drives me on and allows me to find new ways to express myself. Many of the images have a texture that only becomes apparent when viewed closely. The choice of archival papers and pigments adding a dimensionality to the mood.
Scapes = are more recognizable, yet still seen from an alternate point of view to the traditional. Utilising HDR and other modern processes.
CBD, PortobelloSummer
FringeDwellers = Observations from the fringe, fetish and fashion.
LatexSpace, ToeRope, BlueBlur
My freelance/commercial work tends towards HDR (High Dynamic Range) and architecture (or a combination), fashion and portraits.
